Memorial Scholarship

 

Purpose: Provide one-thousand-dollar scholarships to high school students of African American descent who reside in Clark County, AR, in the names of the founding members: Leroy Brownlee, Lawrence Deloach, and John L Ware

2. Information on your participation in school activities and working with fellow students

3. Information on your participation in and support of local community activities (community service)

4. Information on your academics – ACT, SAT, GPA, Class Ranking, Transcript, etc.

5. Information about your goals for your future (motivation and drive)

6. Is there anything else we should know about you?

Submit all required information in PDF, Word doc, or jpeg format to the Buffaloes’ Foundation, Inc. via email at buffaloes.scholarship1993@gmail.com by May 30, annually.

 If chosen to receive one of the scholarships, the applicant must consent to the required information:

  • You can meet with the Scholarship Committee via Zoom at a designated time or at an agreed-upon time between the scholar and the committee.
  • Agree to attend the Memorial Scholarship Breakfast on the first Saturday in August.
  • Agree to give a short speech of thanks, appreciation, and acknowledgment of the gift. (Don’t worry, the committee will give you a template and suggestions for your speech.)
  • Have decided what college or career training institute/trade school you would like to attend.
  • Obtain an ID Number from a selected college or career training institute /trade school so a check can be sent to the institution.
  • By the end of your first semester or no later than December 30, write a letter of thanks/gratitude to the Buffaloes Foundation, Inc. for the opportunity to earn the one thousand-dollar scholarship.



Deadline for application is May 30 annually.
